Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 114 event in Mexico City the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
On this occasion the UFC opted to go with four ‘Performance Of The Night’ awards, with one being handed to Dustin Ortiz, who racked up the fastest knockout in flyweight history when he rocked Hector Sandoval with a right hand to the temple and then sealed the 15 second finish with a few hammerfists.
Also earning a ‘Performance Of The Night’ award was Joseph Morales, who had been taken down early in the opening round of their fight, but managed to work his way back to his feet and then rocked Roberto Sanchez with a right hand, before taking his back and sinking in a deep rear-naked choke to force the tap out.
Nobody was giving Humberto Banadaley much of a chance in his fight with Martin Bravo on the main card, but he delivered a big upset by brutally knocking out his opponent with a knee to the head just 26 seconds into the fight.
Niko Price also notched up a nearly finish in his fight with Alan Jouban, perfectly timing a right hand counter of a Jouban leg kick that dropped him, with a short blast of ground and pound afterwards being enough to convince the referee to end the fight at the 1.44min mark.
