Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 239 event in Las Vegas the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
Four ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses were dished out on this occasion and among them was main event winner Marcin Tybura, who had to ensure some heavy punches from Tai Tuivasa early in the opening round that left him with a cut to his scalp.
However, Tybura was then able to bring Tuivasa into his world by getting the fight to the mat and working for a rear-naked choke that sent Tuivasa to sleep at the 4.08min mark.
Macy Chiasson submitted Pannie Kianzad with a rear-naked choke to win TUF Season 28 at 145lbs five years ago and last night she gave a repeated performance, this time at 135lbs as she again was able to bring down her opponent and apply the choke to get a first round finish.
The theme continued with the third bonus award, which went to Jafel Filho after he also used a rear-naked choke to finish Ode Osbourne in the first round.
And a fourth submission finish won the final bonus of the night, with Jaqueline Amorim taking just 98 seconds to deliver an armbar submission against Cory McKenna.
