Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 246 event in Edmonton, Canada the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
On a night when only 4 of the 13 fights delivered a finish inside the distance, the UFC opted to keep there bonus awards for the winners of those bouts.
That meant Jasmine Jasudavicius was one of four ‘Performance Of The Night’ winners after she managed to sink in a d’arce choke submission mid-way through the final round of her fight with Ariane Lipski.
The other main card bonus winner was Dustin Stoltzfus, who had kept Marc-Andre Barriault grounded for a significant portion of the opening round, but then found himself coming under fire when his opponent got back to his feet. However, despite being finished by strikes in two of his last three fights, Stoltzfus decided to stay at close quarters and trade blows, which paid off when he knocked him out with a clean right hook.
Charles Jourdain earned his bonus on the preliminary card when he forced a quick tap-out from Victor Henry courtesy of a 2nd round guillotine choke submission.
Meanwhile, Youssef Zalal dropped Jack Shore with a big knee early in the second round of their fight, before following him to the canvas to set up a fight-ending arm-triangle choke submission.
