UFC On ESPN+ 31 Post-Fight Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC On ESPN+ 31 event in Las Vegas the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

‘Fight Of The Night’ honors on this occasion went to a back-and-forth battle in a rematch between Bobby Green and Lando Vannata.

At times the two seemed to be trading blow-for-blow repeatedly with clean punches and sharp counters, but though both men would end up being hurt at times, it was Green who was able to drop Vannata multiple times over the course of the three-rounder, while also enjoying spells of control on top, to secure a unanimous decision victory.

Co-main event fighter Jennifer Maia secured one of two ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses after she halted Joanne Calderwood’s hopes of a flyweight title shot inside of the first five minutes.

Maia found early success with her crisp punches in the fight, but it was when the fight hit the mat that she saw her opportunity to go for a finish, locking up an armbar from her back and then transitioning to gain better leverage and force the tap-out.

Also earning a performance bonus was Vicente Luque, who was having good success targeting Randy Brown with heavy calf kicks throughout their fight, but then deep into the second round saw an opportunity to land a knee to the head as his taller opponent was bent over that dropped him, and then sealed the KO stoppage with hard punches.
