Veronica Hardy Faces Eduarda Moura at UFC 309

Veronica Hardy will fight Eduarda Moura at the upcoming UFC 309 event at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 16th.

The 28-year-old Hardy has had an unusual journey in the UFC since joining all the way back in 2016. She didn’t get off to good start as she went on a three-fight losing slump in her first few years in the promotion.

A submission win over Polyana Viana in 2019 briefly steadied the ship, but after a decision loss the following year she made the shock announcement that she was retiring from the sport due to concussion issues.

That appeared to be the end of the story, but three years later she re-emerged in the promotion after being convinced to give her career another chance by her now-husband, former UFC fighter Dan Hardy.

Hardy’s courage to give her career a second chance in 2023 has paid off so far as she’s gone on a three-fight winning streak, earning decision wins over Juliana Miller, Jamey-Lyn Horth and most recently JJ Aldrich a few months ago.

Now Hardy will go up against the 30-year-old Moura, a Contender Series recruit who earned a TKO win in her promotional debut last year, but came out on the wrong end of a split-decision verdict against Denise Gomes last time out.

Hardy vs. Moura joins a UFC 309 card that doesn’t yet have a headlining fight, but will include Chris Weidman vs. Eryk Anders and Nikita Krylov vs. Azamat Murzakanov.
