Video has now emerged showing the moment Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino punched fellow UFC fighter Angela Magana in the face this past weekend in Las Vegas.
‘Cyborg’ had confronted Magana over posts she’d made about her on social media over the past couple of years, and as tempers flared the Brazilian star lashed out, landing a punch that left Magana with a lacerated lip.
Police were called to the scene and both Magana and her friend and fellow fighter Bec Rawlings gave statements, while surveillance footage led to ‘Cyborg’ then being charged with misdemeanor battery.
It’s not clear yet what kind of punishment, if any, the UFC will hand out to ‘Cyborg’, but it’s interesting to note that several high-profile female fighters like Miesha Tate, Marloes Coenen, Carla Esparza, and Marion Reneau have already spoken out in support of the fighter, believing that she had been cyber-bullied by Magana.
