Marlon Moraes is the hero of a new viral police bodycam video, which shows the former UFC bantamweight star turned cop easily taking down a loud-mouth tough-guy while on patrol in Coral Springs, Florida.

The 38-year-old Moraes became a police officer after retiring from MMA a few years ago, and judging by the video below he’s a natural in his new line of work.

In the footage from back in March of this year, which has just emerged via the Sergeant Curtis youtube channel, Moraes is seen conducting a traffic stop, where he would go on to arrest a female driver under suspicion of DUI, among other charges.

That wasn’t the end of the story however, as the suspect’s husband was also in the vehicle and was clearly heavily intoxicated too.

Moraes insisted that the man couldn’t drive and would have to call for an Uber, but instead the bone-headed drunk became increasingly belligerent and confrontational with Moraes.

Clearly not realizing who he was dealing with, the man made the mistake of escalating the situation, going from calling Moraes a “b*tch,” to informing him that, “you can’t fight me – I’ll f*ck you up.”

To his credit the 5ft 6″ Moraes kept his cool despite the considerably larger man’s intimidation tactics, but when the suspect aggressively took a few steps towards him, his MMA instincts kicked in immediately as he stepped in to easily sweep the perp to the ground and arrest him.

The man was subsequently taken to jail facing charges of ‘Corruption by threat against a public servant’, ‘assault against a law enforcement officer’, and ‘obstructing an officer without violence.’

It’s been quite the weekend Moraes, as in addition to this footage surfacing, he also made his comeback to MMA for the first time in over three years on Friday night, beating Maximillano Perez by unanimous decision at Liga Monstro Combat 2 in his native Brazil.

During his MMA career ‘Magic’ Moraes won the WSOF promotion’s bantamweight title and successfully defended it five times before joining the UFC, where he defeated the likes of Jose Aldo, Aljamain Sterling, John Dodson and Jimmie Rivera.
