Watch Jose Aldo, Renan Barao And BJ Penn Train Together

If you want to talk about a who’s who of the UFC’s lighter weight-classes then you’d be hard pushed to come up with a more illustrious trio than Jose Aldo, Renan Barao and BJ Penn, and the Nova Uniao fight camp in Brazil was lucky enough to have them all training together under the same roof recently.

Penn made the trip to the camp, where he himself trained in BJJ many years ago, to help the two champions train for their upcoming title fights at UFC 169 this weekend, while also getting invaluable training himself from the next generation of UFC superstars ahead of his featherweight debut against Frankie Edgar later this year.

First things first though, Penn will coach opposite Edgar on the upcoming season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ before their trilogy fight later this year.

Meanwhile, Barao looks to defeat Urijah Faber for a second time in the main event of UFC 169 on Saturday night, while Aldo attempts to earn his sixth successful title defense against Ricardo Lamas in the co-main event.

Check out the three stars in training below.

Over the years I've watched the UFC develop into the powerhouse it is today, organizations like PRIDE, Strikeforce and WEC rise and fall, and Bellator emerge as a new force on the MMA landscape. Throughout it all I've remained captivated by the sport and I'm excited to cover what comes next here on MMA Insight.
