Yancy Medeiros And Justin Jaynes Released From The UFC

UFC veteran Yancy Medeiros and Justin Jaynes have both been released from the UFC this week the promotion has confirmed.

Medeiros had been fighting for the UFC for the past eight years, and though he only posted a 6-8 (+1nc) record during that period, he was known as an entertaining fighter and had earned two ‘Fight Of The Night’ awards along with three performance bonuses.

The last few years proved to be tough for the 33-year-old however, having lost four times in a row against Donald Cerrone, Gregor Gillespie, Lando Vannata and most recently Damir Hadzovic.

Prior to that Medeiros had enjoyed his best spell in the promotion, stringing together a trio of wins over the likes of Alex Oliveira, Erick Silva and Sean Spencer.

Meanwhile, Justin Jaynes has also been shown the exit door after he struggled to make his mark in the promotion.

Things had started off well enough for Jaynes when he joined the UFC last year and immediately picked up a TKO win over Frank Camacho.

However, it turns out that was to be the 32-year-old’s only victory inside the Octagon as he’s since suffered four losses in a row against Gavin Tucker, Gabriel Benitez, Devonte Smith and most recently Charles Rosa.
