Yoel Romero Vs ‘Jacare’ Souza Rematch Now Headlines UFC On ESPN 3

A middleweight rematch between leading contenders Yoel Romero and Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ souza is now set to headline UFC On ESPN 3 in Florida on April 27th.

Romero was originally scheduled to headline the show opposite Paulo Costa, but the UFC’s plans have now changed and so instead fans will be treated to a second fight with ‘Jacare’ instead, with ‘The Soldier Of God’ having won their first encounter at UFC 194 in December of 2015.

Since then both fighters have stayed high on the 185lb rankings, with Romero having notched up knockout wins against former champions Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold, sandwiched inbetween two unsuccessful attempts to seize the belt from Robert Whittaker.

On the other hand, ‘Jacare’ has stayed a bit more active, but has never had the opportunity to fight for the title. Instead he’s compiled a 4-2 record that’s included victories over Vitor Belfort, Tim Boetsch, Derek Brunson and Chris Weidman, while picking up losses against Robert Whittaker (before he was champion) and Kelvin Gastelum.

Romero Vs Jacare will headline a UFC On ESPN 3 card that will also includes the lives of Glover Teixeira Vs Ion Cutelaba, Andrei Arlovski Vs Augusto Sakai, John Lineker Vs Cory Sandhagen and Greg Hardy Vs Dmitry Smoliakov.
