Zabit Magomedsharipov Vs Jeremy Stephens Rumored For UFC 235

A featherweight fight between Zabit Magomedsharipov and Jeremy Stephens is rumored to be under consideration for UFC 235 in Las Vegas on March 2nd.

That’s the word according to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, who claimed on Twitter that “the fight isn’t finalized just yet but moving in the right direction.”

Magomedsharipov is one of most promising rising fighters in the UFC at this moment in time, having so far racked up four wins in a row inside the UFC’s Octagon since joining in 2017, taking his overall career record to 16-1.

Magomedsharipov’s 2018 campaign saw him defeat Kyle Bochniak by decision and since then he’s also defeated Brandon Davis with a modified kneebar, which appears to have set him up for a higher profile fight against ‘Lil Heathen.’

Meanwhile, Stephens is coming off a first round TKO loss against Jose Aldo that brought an end to a three-fight winning streak that had seen him defeat Gilbert Melendez, Doo Ho Choi and Josh Emmett.

Magomedsharipov Vs Stephens would join a UFC 235 card that’s also expected to featured Robbie Lawler Vs Ben Askren and Diego Sanchez Vs Mickey Gall, though a rumored fight between Nick Diaz and Jorge Masvidal appears to not be headed for that event according to Diaz himself.
