Do Boring wrestlers know how boring they are?

Do these guys go in with the game plan of “I’m going to push him against the wall and hold him there”?  Have they never heard of a back up plan or do they just not have the fight knowledge or confidence to know when a plan isn’t working?  Why does one takedown outweigh the 15 defended ones?  Brian Stann kept using the phrase “neutralize his opponents weapons”.  Exactly, the clinch should be a neutral position.  Darren Elkins wasn’t controlling Martins against the cage.  He wanted it on the ground, but Martins was keeping it standing.  Martins landed the more significant strikes and was closer to finishing the fight than Elkins ever was.  That is a dirty tactic, to take advantage of a broken system.  The fact that scores for both fighters were 30-27 shows that the system is not right.  After being broken up twice Elkinns kept doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.  What do the fighters and their coaches say after watching tape on performances like that?  Do they rationalize their victory and continue with the same style?  Grinding wrestlers need to stop taking pride in their undeserved decision victories.  If all of the grinders have such great work ethic, they need to put it to use in the gym and develop some ground and pound, some ju jitsu , or some striking, just work on anything other than their one trick of neutralization.  Speaking of wrestlers with only one trick…
