Andrei Arlovski defeats Antonio Silva by KO at 2.59mins of Rd1
Gleison Tibau defeats Piotr Hallmann by split decision (29-28 x2, 28-29)
Leonardo Santos defeats Efrain Escudero by unanimous decision (29-28 x3)
Santiago Ponzinibbio defeats Wendell Oliveira Marques by TKO at 1.20mins of Rd1
Marques’ counter striking looked sharp as the round began, but then Ponzinibbio suddenly stepped up a gear, clocking his opponent with a hook that buckled his knees. Following behind it was a combination of left and right straights and hooks that essentially flash KO’d Marques though he immediately sprung back up again. The ref had rightly already decided the fight was over though and Ponzinibbio gets what’s declared as a TKO win.
Iuri Alcantara defeats Russell Doane by unanimous decision (29-28 x3)
As expected this was a competitive fight from start to finish. Alcantara clearly had the advantage on the feet with his left hand in particular finding it’s mark consistently throughout the fight. Doane was able to land a number of takedowns on Alcantara though and enjoyed a number of spells on top, though Alcantara was always active both offensively and defensively from his back. In the end though Alcantara’s striking together with a few notable takedowns of his own including one early and another very late in the fight helped him to secure the decision win.
Jessica Andrade defeats Larissa Moreira Pacheco by submission (guillotine choke) at 4.33mins of Rd1
Very good performance from Andrade here against a promising newcomer. She was quick off the mark in the opening round, immediately closing the distance with strikes to get into the clinch and then managing to get Pacheco down. From there she stayed in control on top for most of the round giving her opponent little room to operate before managing to lock in a guillotine choke and force the tap.
