Noche UFC 4 in September has suffered a major blow with the news that Yair Rodriguez is out of his featherweight main event clash against Jean Silva for undisclosed reasons.

The 33-year-old Rodriguez had already been out for almost a year-and-a-half since a unanimous decision victory over Patricio Pitbull, so it’s disappointing to hear that the former interim 145lb champ and proud Mexican won’t be able to front the Noche UFC 4 event.

The UFC have moved quickly to replace Rodriguez, with Jose Delgado now stepping into the main event spot on a little more than three weeks notice.

The 28-year-old Delgado joined the UFC from the Contender Series back in 2024 and has so far gone 4-1 in the promotion.

That includes back-to-back wins so far in 2026, having beaten Andre Fili by split-decision back in March, followed by a unanimous decision victory against Austin Bachi just last month to take the No.14 spot on the featherweight rankings.

He’ll now face a major step up in competition against the No.6 placed Silva, who is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Arnold Allen back in January.

The 29-year-old Silva established himself as a major player early in his UFC run finishing his first five fights inside the distance against the likes of Bryce Mitchell, Charles Jourdain and Bryce Mitchell, and currently holds a 6-1 record overall in the Octagon.

Silva vs. Delgado takes the top spot on a Noche UFC 4 card in Arizona on September 12th that will also include the likes of Brandon Moreno vs. Joseph Morales, Tommy McMillen vs. Marwan Rahiki, Manon Fiorot vs. Alexa Grasso and Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs. Curtis Blaydes.
