Mayra Bueno Silva vs. Macy Chiasson Announced For UFC 303

A women’s bantamweight fight between Mayra Bueno Silva and Macy Chiasson has been announced for UFC 303 in Las Vegas on June 29th during International Fight Week.

The 32-year-old Silva fought for the vacant bantamweight strap back in January, but lost out unanimously on the scorecards to Raquel Pennington.

Prior to that Silva had gone unbeaten in her last four fights, with wins over Wu Yanan, Stephanie Egger and Lina Linsberg being joined by a submission win over Holly Holm that was later amended to a no-contest after she tested positive for ritalinic acid.

Now the No.3 ranked Silva will be going up against the 7th placed Chiasson, who is coming off a submission victory against Pannie Kianzad last month.

That keeps the 33-year-old Chiasson in a pattern of win-one-lose-one over the past few years, having also beaten Marion Reneau and Norma Dumont in-between losses to Raquel Pennington and Irene Aldana.

Silva vs. Chiasson joins a UFC 303 card that will be headlined by the long-awaited return of Conor McGregor after a three year absence in a welterweight fight with Michael Chandler, while recent 205lb title challenger Jamahal Hill will make a quick return from his KO loss in order to fight Khalil Rountree Jr and Cub Swanson fights Andre Fili.
