The Balancing Act

UFC TUF 20 TV Report: Bec Rawlings tries to end Tecia Torres' 2nd ...

Aussie male fighters had shown great success on the international MMA stage. Women fighters on the other hand is still struggling to equate that success. UFC Fight Card 65 feathers two women straw-weight fighters – Alex Chambers and Bec Rawlings. Both of these fighters were in the 2014 bid for the first ever UFC Women’s straw weight, but both were eliminated very early in the tournament preliminary and both lost their fight in the Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale in Las Vegas Dec 2014. Neither had any other fights since then and will now endeavour to put a win back into their career this coming May.

Chasing the Perfect 10

Jake Matthews, undefeated at 8-0, Daniel Kelly, undefeated at 9-0 have a few other things in common – they are both natives of Melbourne chasing a perfect 10 and their position in UFC 193. Jake had so far fought predominately in Australia with the exception of a fight in Auckland Jun 2014. Daniel Kelly have had one fight earlier this year in Colorado USA which he won but rather ungracefully. Should Daniel Kelly obtain his perfect 10 this May he would more than likely earn a spot in UFC 193. Should Jake Matthews defeat American James Vick this May he will stand a chance to win his perfect 10 in his native city. It will be a big year for both fighters.
