The man known as Wonderboy had a lot of hype behind him when he was first signed by the UFC, and two and a half years later, it appears that the hype was justified.
Thompson has gone 5-1 in the Octagon, with his only setback coming against top five Welterweight Matt Brown. That has not deterred the 31-year-old, however, as he has gone to beat the likes of Chris Clements, Robert Whittaker and Patrick Cote following the loss.
While the Welterweight division is among the most stacked in the UFC, Thompson’s dominance cannot be denied as he seeks his fifth straight win.
With an entertaining fighting style, a solid winning streak and a growing hype train behind him, don’t be surprised if Wonderboy’s next fight is against a known Welterweight on the fringes of the top ten.
