UFC Announces New Fan Bonuses For PPV Events Paid In Bitcoin

The UFC have announced that fans will now get to vote for special Fan Bonuses Of The Night at upcoming pay-per-view events, starting with UFC 273 on Saturday night.

Based on fans votes, three lucky fighters will be rewarded with $30,000, $20,000 and $10,000 bonus awards, with the twist being that they’ll each be paid in bitcoin, courtesy of the UFC’s $175 million deal with crypto.com, which began last year.

“Crypto.com has been an official UFC partner for less than a year, and I’m telling you they are already one of the best partners we’ve ever had,” UFC president Dana White said in a statement. “They’re constantly coming up with new ideas about how we can work together to connect with the fans. This new Fan Bonus of the Night is an awesome way to get fans more engaged in our events while rewarding the fighters for bad-ass performances.”

It should be stressed that these new bonuses will be in addition to the UFC’s traditional ‘Fight of The Night’ and ‘Performance Of The Night’ awards, which are decided upon by UFC officials after the show’s conclusion.

The added bitcoin incentives will certainly add extra spice to the occasion on a night in which there’ll be two title belts on the line, with featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski going up against The Korean Zombie, while bantamweight champ Aljamain Sterling fights Petr Yan in the co-main event, not to mention Khamzat Chimaev’s next fight against Gilbert Burns too.
