Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno appear to be on course to fight each other for the fourth time in a row as the UFC has signalled it’s intent to book another flyweight title bout between them in July.

The saga between these two first began in December of 2020 at UFC 256 when Figueiredo, the division’s champion at time only narrowly held onto the belt after Moreno battled his way to a majority draw verdict, albeit with Figueiredo having been deducted a point for groin strike.

That led to an immediate rematch at UFC 263 in June of last year and this time it was Moreno who came out on top, earning a rear-naked choke submission victory in the third round to claim the title.

It still felt like there was unfinished business between the two however and so a trilogy fight followed at UFC 270 in January, and the rollercoaster ride continued with Figueiredo reclaiming the belt via unanimous decision in a ‘Fight Of The Night’ performance.

The fact that all three fights between the pair have been so entertaining and for the most part closely contested has meant that between the fighters themselves and the fans there’s still an appetite for more and it seems the UFC brass are eager to strike while the iron is still hot.

At this stage there’s no official announcement on which event this title fight will land on, but it stands to reason that there’s a solid chance it will feature as part of July’s UFC 276 event in Las Vegas during International Fight week, which traditionally features a stacked line-up of fights.
