In this bout, Silveira connected with numerous punches and in an effort to avoid strikes, Sakuraba went for the takedown.Despite being the most respected referee in the sport today, McCarthy hasn’t been exempt from the world of ruining a fight.
From McCarthy’s perspective, he thought Sakuraba had been dropped from the punches and mistakenly stepped in to end the fight.
