Top Six Fighters “Do Or Die” MMA Debuts in the Big Leagues

Daniel Cormier

The UFC Heavyweight contender made his debut for Strikeforce in its ‘Challengers’ series in September 2009, beating Gary Frazier via second round TKO. He ended up going 8-0 under the Strikeforce banner, which included wins over such fighters as Jason Riley, Jeff Monson, Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva and Josh Barnett.

He was one of the UFC’s prized possessions from the Strikeforce/UFC merger, with his superb record leading to a UFC debut against perennial UFC Heavyweight Frank Mir. Cormier dominated the former UFC Heavyweight Champion en route to a unanimous division win and has cemented himself as a top contender in the heavyweight division.
