Cody Durden punished Matt Schnell for an unsuccessful 2nd round takedown tonight at UFC Fight night 242 by catching him in an anaconda choke to emerge with a submission victory.

Round One:

Schnell gets in close and lands a nice punch straight away. Another exchange in close and Schnell lands with a short flurry, but Durden lands too.

Durden pressing forward now and applying good pressure with frequent punches. Schnell lands nicely too though. Costa with another flurry and then crisp work in response from Schnell.

Durden slowing down a bit for now. Not for too long though as he unleashes another combination of punches.

Missed overhand from Durden. Punches down the pipe do land though. Schnell moving forward now and then ducks just in time as a kick whistles over his head.

Leg kick for Durden. Left hand for him. Short flurry in close. Leg kick from Schnell. Schnell feels out with a left hook. Spinning kick from Durden misses.

Inside leg kick from Schnell. Schnell has a cut his left eye. Brief exchange late in the round. Durden lands a couple more punches before the horn sounds.

Round Two:

Schnell starts the round with a couple of straight punches. Schnell tries for a takedown, but Durden sprawls on it. Durden immediately working for a submission, sets up the anaconda choke and rolls with it. Schnell trying to get free but is quickly forced to tap out with both hands at 0.29mins of the second round.
