Rose Namajunas and Erin Blanchfield have been announced as the headlining attraction for UFC Fight Night 246 on November 2nd, which will take place in Edmonton, Canada.
Former strawweight champion Namajunas comes into the fight having already secured back-to-back wins in her 2024 flyweight campaign so far.
That run began with a unanimous decision victory over Amanda Ribas in a five-rounder back in March, and the 32-year-old has since gone on to also beat late replacement Tracey Cortez on the scorecards over five rounds last month.
That leaves Namajunas ranked No.5 at 125lbs as she now prepares to take on the No.3 placed Blanchfield, who suffered the first loss of her seven-fight UFC campaign last time out when Manon Fiorot beat her by unanimous decision.
Still only 25-years-old, Blanchfield’s six-fight unbeaten run in the UFC before that had included victories over the likes of Taila Santos, Jessica Andrade, Molly McCann and Miranda Maverick.
Namajunas vs. Blanchfield will be fronting a UFC Fight Night 246 card that marks their first visit to Edmonton since July of 2019 and will also feature a heavyweight co-main event between Derrick Lewis and Alexander Romanov, as well as Ariane Lipski vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius and Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Dustin Stoltzfus.
