A middleweight fight between Shara Magomedov and Armen Petrosyan has been announced for UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi on October 26th.
Undefeated in the first 14 fights of his MMA career, the 30-year-old Magomedov has gone on a three-fight winning streak since joining the UFC last year.
He earned a unanimous decision victory in his Octagon debut back in October of last year over Bruno Silva and followed that up with a third round TKO finish of Antonio Trocoli in June. Then last month he fought to a unanimous decision win against Michal Oleksiejzuk.
Next he’ll be fighting the 33-year-old Petrosyan, who is coming off a 1st round submission loss to Rodolfo Vieira back in February.
Overall Petrosyan has a 3-2 record in the UFC so far, including notable wins over the likes of Gregory Rodrigues, A.J. Dobson and Christian Leroy Duncan, while his other loss was to rising star Caio Borralho.
Magomedov vs. Petrosyan joins a UFC 308 card that will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between current champion Ilia Topuria and ex-kingpin Max Holloway, while Robert Whittaker vs. Khamzat Chimaev serves as the co-main event alongside the likes of Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov and Magomedov Ankalaev vs. Aleksander Rakic.
