The undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov is currently one of the standout talents in the UFC’s welterweight division after winning five fights there so far, and so when he got to test his wrestling against Bellator 170lb champion Jason Jackson at Kill Cliff FC everyone stopped what they were doing to watch.
Both Rakhmonov and Jackson had takedown attempts foiled during the 90 second video clip, but in the end it was Rakhmonov who was able to spin to the back after stuffing a takedown from his opponent, then as they rose back to their feet brought him to the mat with a belly-to-back slam.
The 33-year-old Jackson is also a former Titan FC champion who once fought on the Contender Series back in 2017, but lost due to suffering an ankle injury. He eventually found his way to the Bellator promotion and has gone on a strong seven-fight winning streak, beating the likes of Benson Henderson, Neiman Gracie, Paul Daley and Douglas Lima along the way, before seizing the title last time out with a KO victory over Yaroslav Amosov.
As for the 29-year-old Rakhmonov, he’s a former M-1 champ who has finished all five of his UFC opponents so far inside the distance, including the likes of Alex Caceres, Neil Magny and most recently Geoff Neal, while his next fight comes at UFC 296 on December 16th when he squares up to Stephen Thompson.
