Having an obvious move is definitely not as bad as having an obvious flaw. Bryan Caraway had the same striking flaw as his girlfriend Meisha Tate – he continually put his head down when striking over and over again. Raphael Assuncao noticed it too and was trying to time that uppercut. Such an obvious flaw will be noticed by his next opponent when watching tape too. Considering his training partner Tate does the same thing, it looks like this habit is ingrained at this stage. Confidence is good, delusion is not. Caraway likes to say he has the best ground work at 135 pounds. He does have a lot of submission wins on his record, but against who? Perhaps he could be able to take down Urijah Faber, Renan Barao, or even Michael McDonald but he will find it very difficult to submit any of them. Caraway is another fighter who has a chance to do well against a certain level of competition, but will be found out in the upper echelons as more well-rounded fighters exploit his striking deficiencies.
