Max “Blessed” Holloway
Fighting Dustin Poirier in your UFC debut has to be tough. Fighting Dennis Bermudez and Conor McGregor back to back has to be just as tough. Holloway is the only person in UFC to make it through all three rounds with Conor McGregor and that shows how tough he is. Max has since finished his last four opponents. His striking is quick and accurate. When he flurries for the finish, they all connect. His submission game however isn’t on the same level. It is not bad, so to speak, it is just pretty average, along with his wrestling. If Max wants to break into the top ten he will need an improved ground game. The top of the featherweight division is filled with deadly strikers like Aldo, Swanson, Edgar, and McGregor the bottom is filled with submission and wrestling specialists in Guida, Lentz, and Oliveira. Max has the potential to be fighting for a top ten spot next year. At the very least if he keeps finishing his opponents he could get a chance to avenge one of his three loses. Beating someone he already lost to would give him a new wave of confidence and momentum. Expect big things from ‘Blessed’ in the future.
