Fight Report

Steven Siler defeats Mike Brown by KO at 0.50mins of Rd1

Siler Floors Brown with a right uppercut as Brown closes in during the opening minute of the fight and starts to rain down some ground and pound. He takes a step back and then drops back down with a hard blow followed by another and Brown appears to be out and the fight is brought to a swift conclusion. Brown protests after quickly recovering, but replays show he did appear to be briefly KO’d so it was a good stoppage.

Diego Brandao defeats Daniel Pineda by unanimous decision (29-28 x3)

Pineda very aggressive to start off this one, but he paid for it as he buckled to one knee from a punch. He got back upright, but looked unsteady and Brandao was landing more hard shots and had him in real trouble. Pineda bit down on his gumshield though and continued to swing hard. Despite Pineda’s continued aggression he wasn’t landing too often, while Brandao was clinical and powerful with his offensive output. Brandao also secured a brief takedown before the pace slowed towards the end of the round. Onto the second and Brandao landed a takedown early. Pineda got up and soon after caught Brandao by surprise with an elbow strike. Brandao then shot in low and got another takedown. He looked in control at this stage, but out of the blue Pineda swept him and ended up in full mount raining down hard shots. Great spell for Pineda here as he really put Brandao under a lot of pressure with ground and pound forcing him to roll to his back before the Brazilian nicely changed things up by going for an ankle lock. Pineda escaped though and ended the round on top. In the third both men looked tired, but Brandao still had the energy to score a few crucial takedowns. In the final minute they were back on their feet and looking exhausted, though with 10 seconds to go Brandao unleashed a head kick that Pineda walked through so it was down to the judges.

Manny Gamburyan defeats Cole Miller by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28 x2)

Miller used his range well in the opening stages of the first round, landing the jab solidly, while Gamburyan was struggling to close the distance effectively. Gamburyan managed to secure a big takedown in the second half of the round though and landed solid elbows on the mat. Then there was a concerning moment in the final seconds of the round as Miller landed a couple of elbow strikes that appeared to land close to the back of his opponent’s head. When the round ended Gamburyan was left clutching the back of his head looking in pain and somewhat dazed, and Miller looked on concerned. The doctor came in to assess the downed fighter who was blinking hard, and at one stage it looked like the fight might end, but Gamburyan claimed he was ok to continue. He did seem better and after again getting outstruck by Miller on the feet he was able to take him down and keep him there for much of the second. In the third Miller landed a hard knee early, but was then put on his back once again. Not a whole lot of action from Gamburyan on top, but he was controlling the fight on the mat. Miller tried hard to stand up in the final minute, but couldn’t quite do it and got slammed down again.

Ovince St. Preux defeats Cody Donovan by KO at 2.07mins of Rd1

Donovan took OSP down early, but then regretted it as his opponent slickly swept him to end up on top, then unleashed a barrage of ground and pound strikes that generated enough power to bring about a KO stoppage from inside his guard.

James Vick defeats Ramsey Nijem by submission (guillotine choke) at 0.58mins of Rd1

Vick picks up the swift submission victory here, locking in a deep guillotine choke as Nijem looked for a takedown. Nijem dropped to his knees and was then rolled over before being forced to tap.
