UFC 306 at The Sphere in Las Vegas on September 14th, aka ‘Riyadh Season Noche FC’ has ben billed as a celebration of Mexican Independence Day and now it has it’s first Mexican fighter on board with the news that Yazmin Jauregui will go up against Brazil’s Ketlen Souza.

The 25-year-old Jauregui has become one of Mexico’s leading female fighters after claiming three wins in one night to win the Combate Global ‘Last Latina Standing’ tournament a couple of years ago and then going on to sign for the UFC, where she’s compiled a 4-1 record so far.

She began her run in the Octagon with a a decision win over Iasmin Lucindo, followed by a TKO finish of Istela Nunes. She did then suffered a 20 second TKO loss to Denise Gomes, but has since rebounded with a unanimous decision win over Sam Hughes in February.

now she’ll go up against the 28-year-old Souza, who joined the UFC last year after back-to-back wins in the Invicta FC promotion.

Souza suffered a first-round submission loss to Karine Silva in her UFC debut, but has since earned a unanimous decision win against Marnic Mann in April.

Jauregui vs. Souza joins Michel Pereira vs. Anthony Hernandez on the eagerly awaited UFC 306 event, which by the time the full card has been announced is expected to be a star-studded line-up.
