Jon Jones vs Lyoto Machida, UFC 140
While Jon Jones is primarily known as a striker and wrestler, he made sure everyone knew his formidable offensive arsenal also included a dangerous submission game when he fought Lyoto Machida at UFC 140.
It’s not often we see fights ending by submission when both men are still standing, and when you watch the way this one ends you’ll see why that’s probably for the best.
Jones caught Machida in a deep standing guillotine choke late in the second round and had it locked up so tight that the Brazilian went to sleep on his feet.
Then Jones simply let go and walked nonchalantly away as ‘The Dragon’ collapsed in a lifeless heap on the mat behind him.
