12 Top MMA Fighters Who Lost Their Debuts

Mark Hunt

Before he began knocking guys out in MMA, Mark Hunt was well known on the K1 and Kickboxing circuit, having been the 2001 K1 World Grand Prix winner.

He decided to go into MMA in June 2004 and things didn’t immediately go his way, losing by submission in his MMA debut against Hidehiko Yoshida at Pride Critical Countdown.

He’s had a mixed MMA career since then, beating fighters like Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic and Wanderlei Silva before losing six straight fights. Hunt’s ‘never say die’ attitude continued to pay off though as he eventually regained his form while in the UFC and racked up four big wins in a row to become a genuine threat in the heavyweight division once again in the twilight of his career.MarkHunt605x240
