The big fight announcements just keep coming! A major bout for the bantamweight division has just been unveiled for November 19th’s UFC 139 event in San Jose with Urijah Faber set to do battle with former 135lb champ Brian Bowles.
Faber came up just short in his recent title shot against Dominick Cruz, but many people have been calling for a rematch between the two, particularly since ‘The California Kid’ still holds a 2007 win over the champ, and a win against Bowles could push him into the No.1 contender spot once again.
Bowles is also on the verge of getting back to a title shot however after notching up two wins since joining the UFC from the WEC, taking his career record to 10-1.
He also has unfinished business with Cruz after he broke his hand in their first encounter back in March of 2010, which resulted in a second round doctor’s stoppage and him losing his title.
Faber Vs Bowles will likely have a prominent spot on the main card of UFC 139 which is expected to be headlined by a heavyweight title showdown between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos.
