UFC 254: Khabib vs. Gaethje Will Have An Early Start Time

One of the biggest pay-per-view events of the year, UFC 254: Khabib vs. Gaethje at Fight Island, Abu Dhabi on October 24th is going to be airing early to cater to the European market, Dana white has revealed.

“It will be time-friendly [for the European audience],” White revealed at the APEX facility on Tuesday night. “It will happen in the afternoon [in the US).”

This will be the second time this has happened for a Khabib Nurmagomedov fight as last year his headlining title battle with Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 also started early, with the main card going live at 2pm ET (7pm UK).

It means the event will air at a more favorable time in Russia, where Khabib is a full-blown superstar, and any concerns that such an early start time would harm the PPV numbers were blown out of the water at UFC 242 as it is estimated to have drawn in the region of 1 million buys.

UFC 254 will also be a must-see show due to the main event alone, but in addition to that it will also feature the likes of Robert Whittaker vs. Jared Cannonier, Zabit Magomedsharipov vs. Yair Rodriguez, Rafael dos Anjos vs. Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkov vs. Walt Harris.
