UFC 156 is an event you won’t want to miss on Saturday night with a title fight headliner backed up by a strong main card lined up to make a big impression during Superbowl weekend.
Headlining this one is a fight that’s as close to a superfight as we’ve had in the lighter weight divisions in quite some time as current featherweight champion Jose Aldo takes on former lightweight title holder Frankie Edgar.
That alone makes this event a must-see, but considered the fact that the co-main event features the return of heavyweight star Alistair Overeem who could book himself a title shot against Cain Velasquez is he can get past Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva.
The quality continues with Rashad Evans taking on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in a meaningful light-heavyweight battle.
…but, wait – there’s more as Demian Maia will attempt to continue the successful start to his ascent up the welterweight ranks against one of the division’s toughest opponents, Jon Fitch.
And finally there’s a flyweight scrap between two of the 125lb division’s best that could decide the next title contender as Joseph Benavidez goes up against Ian McCall.
