Marlon Moraes will squeeze in one last fight before the end of the year as he’s just been booked up to fight Rob Font at UFC Fight Night 186 on December 19th.
It’s somewhat surprising that Moraes is getting back to action so quickly after suffering a head kick TKO loss against Cory Sandhagen less than two weeks ago.
Moraes was also TKO’d by Henry Cejudo in a bantamweight title fight last year, but inbetween times he secured a split decision victory over Jose Aldo.
In total Moraes has a 5-3 UFC record so far, with his other wins coming against the likes of John Dodson, Aljamain Sterling, Jimmie Rivera and Raphael Assuncao, which leaves him ranked at No.3 in the division heading into this fight.
As for Font, he’s coming off back-to-back wins over Sergio Pettis and Ricky Simon by decision, but this will be his first fight in the space of a year.
Font’s overall UFC run stands at 7-3 and he currently features just outside the bantamweight top 10 at No.11.
Moraes vs. Font is currently the biggest fight attached to the UFC Fight Night 180 event, but as of yet there is no confirmed headliner for what stands to be the promotion’s last show of 2020.
