Ronda Rousey TKO’s Sara McMann With First Round Knee At UFC 170

Ronda Rousey looked like she had a fight on her hands in the early striking exchanges with Sara McMann at UFC 170 this evening, but she then landed a pefectly placed knee to the liver to finish the fight in an instant.

Round One:

We’re underway. McMann unleashes heavy punches early and some are connecting as Rousey tries to get into the clinch. Good start for McMann.

Rousey dogged though and gets into the clinch against the cage. McMann breaks free and immediately unleashes more bombs.

Rousey into the clinch once again and lands some knees. Rousey with punches now, then an elbow followed by one big knee right to the liver drops McMann straight to the mat.

At first McMann looks done, but she’s trying to get back up when the referee jumps in and calls an end to the fight with just 1.06mins on the clock.

It’s a shame the fight didn’t go longer as McMann looked game in the early striking exchanges. That being said, the liver shot really did shut her down completely, even if only for a short period of time, and she didn’t have too many complaints afterwards.
